Almost Here

Isaiah 7:14

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign.  Behold a young woman shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Thought for the DayHow will we help God take His message out into the world.

Today is a day I have been waiting for with much excitement and maybe even more nerves.  The boys and girls in our children’s choirs will present their Christmas Musical.  This will be my first time to co-direct a musical in our new church which makes it scary as church members know I am the Minister of Music’s wife, but even more so because I wrote the drama for the musical.  This is another God thing as I took thoughts I had as our members began worshipping in our New Worship Center and began writing the drama to share the story of Jesus’ birth.  This will be the first time the telling of the birth of Jesus will be told in the New Worship Center, so “Told for the Very First Time” came to be.  With the help of my husband, Mark, and my son, Nathaniel, the words came together and we began working.  The drama took another road as a precious church member, Cheri, added her thoughts about the church and all that has taken place over the years since the church opened.  Add a little music, Mary and Joseph, Baby Jesus, cute children (VERY CUTE CHILDREN),  music from very talented instrumentalists and arrangers, and you have the musical.  And somewhere in the mix is this very nervous children’s choir director, new to the church, new to the children, but not new to trusting and loving God.  I know God is with us and I trust God to make the musical His own.

Today, God is in control and God is in the Musical.  He will help the children and everyone involved to bring His message to the congregation.  Today, I ask for prayers asking that God’s message be told in a way that is totally ordained by God.  The day is finally here and the story of the birth of Jesus is going to be told for the very first time in the new Worship Center.  God is in this place and He is in the heart of every child and adult involved as they tell His story.

Prayer:  God, be with our church today as the children tell the story of the birth of Your son, Jesus Christ, is told in a new building.  Help the children as they “give the walls something to talk about” through the many years to come, and more importantly “give the wonderful message that will be taken out into the world.” Amen.

Prayer Focus:   Those telling a story.
