The Visitor

Romans 15:7

Welcome one another, therefore, as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.
Thought for the Day: Welcome Visitors

There is that moment in time where you instantly go from a moment of rest to a moment of excitement that changes your plan and changes your drive. That moment, when my child and I sat on the couch, him sleeping and my watching television. That moment, when my husband calls and says, “I have some news, Bobby is coming in tonight and not tomorrow. I understood wrong.” A friend of ours had called to see if he could stay the night because of an appointment nearby but my husband thought his plan was to come in the next day. In that moment, my excitement took me from resting on the couch to instantly preparing the house for his arrival. In an instant I went from feeling tired to feeling rejuvenated. What excitement to look forward to a visitor! The fun, of course, came when we heard a car door close and my oldest son ran to the door. The specialness came when we hugged a friend we had not seen in a while.
In our daily lives, we meet many people who need to see that excitement on our faces as we talk about our faith and share our love for God. In Romans we read, “Welcome one another, therefore, as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God”. The awesome feeling of sharing God’s Word and love with someone we meet should be this special and filled with excitement of welcoming an old friend. Welcome someone today.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for opening our eyes through excitement of a visitor that we need to show more love and excitement when we share Your Word with others. Help us share Your love in a special way for someone today. Amen.
