Love and Feel Love

Psalms 36:7-9

How precious is thy steadfast love, O God!  The children of men take refuge in the shadow of thy wings.  They feast on the abundance of thy house, and thou givest them drink from the river of life; in the light do we see light.

Thought for the Day:  God wants us to feel His love

Sitting in the quiet moment early in the morning is something I really enjoy.  I love listening to the quiet sounds of my family members breathing softly as they sleep and the sounds of nature as the breeze blows and as the birds sing.  I hear the sounds of our cats as they realize I am awake when they begin telling me they are ready for some attention.  Each sound comes from a different place, but all the sounds come from ones I love.  I guess the fullness my heart feels in the quiet moment comes because the sounds bring the early morning reminder of the things I love and the people and pets who love me.  The sound of nature outside reminds me of God’s love for me.

As I sat this morning, I began thinking about the things that have been stressful to me recently and those things that have brought worry.  For that first period of time I sat with my computer in my lap ready to type something, but nothing came to me.  It wasn’t until I quieted my thoughts down by listening to my son breathing softly in the next room and listening to the breeze and birds outside that my words came to type.  The worry and stress woke me, but the things I love calmed me.  God doesn’t want me to worry and stress.  God wants me to feel love in my heart and to feel that He loves me and is taking care of me.  God is amazing.

Prayer:  Thank you God for loving us and for wanting only the best for us.  Help us each day to turn our stress and worry over to you. We know you have the control over such things.  Help us remember each day to think about the people and things You have placed in our lives to love.  Love brings peace and joy.  Thank you.  Amen.
