Come Holy Spirit

Hebrews 10:22-23

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who primised is faithful.

Thought for the Day:  The Holy Spirit lives in us.

Day to day life brings many challenges and trials that can bring us to our knees, and it is difficult to get out of the rut. Then, a day comes when you are touched in so many ways with God’s grace that you are truly overwhelmed. Today, as I spend the weekend attending a retreat with ladies from our church, I have found God speak to me in ways I cannot truly show. Our speaker, Jena, had to have known that I needed to hear her words and I needed to begin acting on the knowledge that God loves me and that through God’s grace, I am loved. She had to have known that I needed the reminder that the Holy Spirit lives in me and that whenever I am hurt or in need, all I need to do is call on Him. For He is who will carry me through – for I cannot get through things alone. There are so many ladies in attendance, I am sure, who felt the same way about Jena’s words. But isn’t that what the Holy Spirit does. He takes a special Christian person, a speaker in this case, and works through them to touch many – each feeling they are the one being spoken to.

I have always felt the Holy Spirit working through my life, but over the last two months my body has become weary and has been need of rejuvenation. My devotional and writing time has shrunk down as I have awakened later and later, and my time with God has become less as well. After this experience this weekend, I believe the Holy Spirit will awaken me and will lead me through my morning time with Him again. Today, I am on the mountaintop. Tomorrow, I will be home. I now ask the Holy Spirit to lead me, to lead me to His mountaintop where I can stay close to Him.

Prayer: God, thank you so much for times of reflecting and times of fresh thoughts about You. You bring us to newness through the Holy Spirit and remind us that the Holy Spirit dwells in us. Be with us to remember always to let the Holy Spirit lead us through all we do. Amen.
