Break into Singing

Philippians 2:2-4

Complete my joy by being of the same mind having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfishness of conceit, but the humility count others better than yourselves.

Thought for the Day:  Have fun during the hectic times in life.

As my boys and I drove a long distance in our car, we decided to listen to some Pandora Music. My oldest son chose a station called “Kid’s Bop” and the music started playing. At first, we listened and enjoyed a couple of songs and then the fun began. My oldest began singing along and started drumming on the seat console. A few minutes later, we started hearing my youngest singing to the songs. I, of course, joined in singing and kept the beat in a little dance. Soon, we were all having fun and we kept it up for quite a while. What a blessing we experienced on that drive in the midst of one of our trips during our transition. The challenge during change in our lives is to keep some type of normalcy in our day to day routine and to make even the little events special. I saw in this experience with the children that it really didn’t take much to entertain them and to enjoy our day together, even in the midst of a long drive.

God has blessed us in so many ways as we have traveled through our transition and we feel His presence with us all the time. As we go through what has become our everyday routine of packing, working, packing, driving, and more packing, we know that it is in the little things that God has blessed us the most. I never dreamed that a child’s Pandora station could have helped us break into singing and dancing as we enjoyed each other during a 400 mile car trip.

Prayer:   Father God, thank you so much for loving us in such a way that you give us little moments of fun in the midst of times of trouble and transition. You give us through that fun the knowledge that you are with us and want what is best for us. Amen.
