Fingerprints of God

Ephesians 3:19

That you know the love of Christ, which surpasses knowledge that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Thought for the Day:  We are the fingerprints of God

Over the past few days, I have pulled many memories out of closets in the form of pictures and artwork. As I looked through different items and images, I came upon my brother’s artwork. Coble, although weakened from Duchene Muscular Dystrophy, was very talented in line drawings and one of his specialties was “thumbprint” pictures. In all of the thumbprint pictures, he began with his thumbprint printed on a piece of paper and used simple lines to create his characters. Some were baseball players, some were teachers, and some were creatures from his imagination. As I looked through those prints and realized that Coble’s true fingerprints were in each of those pictures, I realized that he was a part of each one.   That brought a warm feeling to my heart.

Isn’t that how God is in our lives. God placed His fingerprint in each of us as He created who we’re going to be. He made us each special and unique but placed His fingerprint in us to make us His. As I reflect on those pictures my brother created with his thumbprint in each one, I imagine that each of us has that identical fingerprint of God. How special is it to know that God’s fingerprint is in us! Then I ask, how clearly can others see God’s fingerprint in us as we go through our days?

Prayer:   God, thank you for making us in Your image. You placed in each of us Your fingerprint to remind us and those who observe us that we are Yours. You are an awesome God and You created us to be Yours. Amen
