Look Back

Philippians 3:8-9

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, do; and the God of peace will be with you.

Thought for the Day:  Look back and remember when God has helped you through.

Look back. Overwhelmed, look back. I love reading devotionals each day and I love the message God gives me through them. Today I am a bit overwhelmed with how many things I need to do to prepare for a move to another state. My list is so long it cannot fit on any page. As I read my devotional this morning, it simply said to look back at times in my life when I was overwhelmed and remember the way God helped me through the situation. When I look back and remember how God helped me through those times, then I can know that I don’t have to be overwhelmed today. God will get me through this, too. In life, God has been with me in so many situations when I was desperate for help. Many of those times, I didn’t see God clearly until I looked back. When I realize and remember that God is always with me, I can delve into my overwhelming situation with more clarity and can know He will help me through.

Today, my prayer is that God will be with me every moment of the day. But, I already know He is always with me. Today, my prayer is that God will let me see where He is calling me and that God will lead me to the specific items on my list that will help me through this overwhelming situation. When I get too overwhelmed, I will “Look Back” and remember the help God has given me in that past to remind me that he will give me help today.

Prayer:   Father God, thank you for always being with me and helping me through my overwhelming situations. I ask today for discernment in what you are leading me to do to get me on the right track in tackling my overwhelming job today. Amen
