The Big Picture

John 16:13

“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.”

Thought for the Day:  Wait for it, It is coming. The Big Picture

A year ago my family was experiencing one of those times when we did not know where God was leading us which made it difficult to go through life’s path. In our hearts we knew God would take us somewhere because He had always taken us to wonderful places, but our minds looked at the finances and our children, and questioned things. We prayed, we shared, we worshipped, but there was that small question about our future. We still prayed. Then, Mark was offered a wonderful ministry position four hundred miles away. At that moment, we knew where God was leading us. We now know the “Big Picture” and we know the place. Mark’s ministry is going well now in that new place but we are still four hundred miles away. The feeling is different from a year ago because we know where God is leading us. We know the place of our future. The daily routine is easier than it was a year ago because we know God’s Big Picture for where He is going to lead us.

God has shown us the “Big Picture” through scripture. As we look in the scripture and what Moses, Joseph, and Jesus had to go through it can be overwhelming wondering how they held up and continued through all the trials and pain. All those years in the wilderness, being thrown in a pit by brothers, and being crucified on a cross are harsh and things we cannot imagine ever going through. But these three all got to see the “Big Picture” because they held on. God has a “Big Picture” for all of us waiting for us in Heaven. Can you imagine anything more wonderful than that? Knowing that “Big Picture” helps us through the hard times, the hard days, because we know where He is leading.

Prayer:   Father God, help us remember everyday that You are with us and that You have the “Big Picture” waiting at the end of our hardships. Help us always look to You as we are going through those hard times resting assured that You are with us and that the “Big Picture” is waiting. Amen.
