Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Thought for the Day: Have no anxiety, just pray.
“I passed the test, I PASSED the test, I PASSED THE TEST!!!!” After a month of waiting, I found out that I had passed a test that was needed for me to complete the requirements for a teacher’s license in Georgia. To understand how big that news is would be to understand that I was never a good test-taker in school and that it had been almost 33 years since I had taken a test of any kind. My lack of test-taking skills when I was young created a great anxiety for me when I took tests, but also created a teacher who was able to teach her students how to take tests and how to conquer test anxiety. But when I stepped into the testing building to take this test, I could literally hear my heart beat hard in my chest. I could not get it to slow down or to calm down. I took the test but came out of the building feeling that I had not done well. For a month, I waited for the results, but had already gone online to see when the next testing window was scheduled. Then, the results came. Before I opened the results, I prayed for God’s miracle that I just passed the test, not that I had done well. When I opened it, I realized that I excelled on the test and had done better than I ever imagined. During the test, I did not have time to go back and second guess myself or to do those things that I had always done in the past through test anxiety. God gave me the miracle of showing what I knew and took away the extra time to question myself. Yes, my heart was beating out of my chest, but God worked with me through the test to keep me focused anyway. “I passed the test, I PASSED the test, I PASSED TEST!”
When I read the results as I sat at my desk in my classroom, well after the students were gone, I screamed and ran through the halls to find anyone to tell. The teacher in the next room was still in her room and had heard my excitement through the wall. We hugged and I actually jumped up and down as a child does when they receive a great gift. I had received a gift and I rejoiced. When I returned home from taking the test a month ago and said that I had not done well, my husband said, “Honey, God gave us this great opportunity and miracle in a spectacular position for me, you don’t really think He is going to drop you on this and not let you pass a test to get a job. He is going to take care of you.” Well, he was right and God “showed up and showed out.” Miracles do happen.
Prayer: God, I know you know this already but, I PASSED THE TEST, and I rejoice because I know you equipped me with what I needed to do something that was in your will for me to do. Thank you God for those miracles you give us each day. Amen.
