The Puzzle

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Thought for the Day:  God’s plan for us fits together like a perfectly completed puzzle

Not long ago I sat on the back deck of our house praying through a time of anxiety and fear. On that day, I wrote about the song “Surely the Presence of the Lord is in This Place” and how the words brought me closer to God and to a time of listening and observing His creation. After writing that devotional, I continued to sit on the deck taking in the sights and sounds of God that were found in my own back yard. At one point I leaned my head back in my chair and looked up. As I did, my eyes focused on the limbs above me and I almost gasped at the sight. When I sit in my chair that faces the house, I can see the limbs of the trees in my front yard. As I gazed up, I saw the most clear message from God that I have ever seen. The limbs from the front yard and the limbs from the back yard looked like puzzle pieces that fit perfectly together. My thoughts immediately turned to God and the feeling that He indeed had a perfect plan for our lives. I felt a peace that I had not felt in a long time and a feeling that soon we would know His plan.

Today, after a week of rain and dampness, I was finally able to return to my back deck to read and write. As I looked up the completed puzzle in the tree limbs was still there as a reminder to me that He is working to bring His plan to us in a remarkable way. In and excited way, I now await with great anticipation His plan for my life.

Prayer:   Father God, Thank you for your remarkable creation and for using your creation to bring us into a peaceful place to worship You. Today, let me look for You in everything and help me know that Your plan for our lives is more wonderful and glorious then we could ever imagine. Thank you for putting the puzzle pieces together to create the perfect picture. Amen.
